To the Friends and Supporters of the Christian Academy School of Fine Arts:

(7/20/09)
In our recent website update, we announced a need to raise an additional $122,000 in order to complete what we have come to refer to as the “summer work,” i.e. the work that must be done before school starts up again because it is either impractical or impossible to perform while school is in session. However, in consultation with our contractor and after further considering the order of work, we have concluded that we can install the roof support columns, steel load-bearing wall, bar joists, and roof decking for approximately $65,000. We must, though, raise these funds immediately in order to complete that portion of the work prior to the beginning of school. We will then complete the remainder of the “drying in” phase and the rest of the overall project as funds become available.

Our overall project estimate remains at $450,000 - $500,000. To date, we have raised approximately $113,000 specifically for this project. There is a long way to go, but our progress is unmistakable. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help us meet our immediate need of $65,000, as well as our overall goal.  The Fine Arts Donation Form may be printed off and returned with your donation. You are also free to call me at anytime, and I would welcome the chance to share the need and the vision for this project, as well as arrange a tour of the facilities. Thank you for your commitment to Christian Academy and to the future of the Christian Academy School of Fine Arts, and may God richly bless you.

(7/7/09) The future of fine arts at Christian Academy is underway! As you know, the school has announced the formation of the Christian Academy School of Fine Arts, and the construction and remodeling projects supporting this exciting new program have begun. During the last concert of the year, I announced some goals – the first of which was to raise the funds necessary to order the steel for the courtyard roof. I am very happy to report that we not only met but surpassed that initial goal, and as a result, we have ordered the steel for the courtyard roof and we have started the excavation work in preparation for pouring the floor! Furthermore, the renovation of our visual arts classrooms is in process and on target for completion by the beginning of the school year!
On behalf of the Administration and the Board, I want to thank everyone who responded so generously to our appeals for the financial support necessary to get us to this point. However, it is now time for us to take the next step. We will soon exhaust the available funds for the work that is underway, and as you know, we can only proceed with work when we have available funds to pay for that work. That means that your help is urgently needed. The current estimate for the entire construction and remodeling project is $450,000 – $500,000. As of July 1, 2009, we had collected approximately $112,000 in funds designated for this project. We’ve made great progress, but there is still much to be done in order to complete this project. However, our most immediate need is to complete the construction of the roof over the courtyard, which must be done while school is not in session.

To do this – we need to raise an additional $122,000 by August 1.

Since the announcement of the Christian Academy School of Fine Arts, the school has received inquiries from several individuals, schools and organizations requesting information on our program and expressing their excitement over the opportunity for students gifted in the arts to learn and develop their gifts in a Christian environment. Many have also expressed their intention to refer students to our program for this very reason. With the further development of our fine arts programs, Christian Academy will provide students with an even greater array of extracurricular opportunities through which to expand their ability to share God’s truth with others in a variety of creative ways. Whether in a performance hall, an athletic contest, a business office, a mission field, a gallery, a classroom, a church, or the home, Christian Academy students are being prepared for leadership and to make a difference in the world. Please help us in our efforts to build on a tradition of excellence in Christ-centered education. To donate funds toward the completion of our fine arts construction and renovation effort, please print out and complete the attached donor form and return the form and your check as indicated. Fine_Arts_donor_info_sheet.pdf If you have any questions about this project or would simply like to discuss how you can help make this vision a reality, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, thank you for your prayers and your tremendous support.
