Congratulations to Michael Babiarz for earning a Distinguished Rating at the KMEA State Solo and Ensemble Festival at Eastern Kentucky University on Saturday, May 16. Michael qualified for State Solo and Ensemble by earning a Distinguished Rating at the district level festival in February. This is the second year that KMEA has offered a state level festival, and Michael is the first student from CAL to participate. His performance of the Bach A Minor Concerto won praise from adjudicators at the district and the state level. Babiarz received his Distinguished Medal from Jack Walker, manager of the KMEA State Solo and Ensemble Festival.
